Terms of Service

Last updated 2 November 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Paul Dalton, who runs Heedie from New Brunswick, Canada ("we", "us"). By using Heedie you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and is part of these terms.

Early access

Heedie is in early access. Features may change, things may break, and we may pause the service while we improve it. There is no charge during early access unless we agree otherwise in writing. If we ever start charging, we will tell you first, and you can choose not to continue.

Who can use Heedie

You must be at least 18 and an adult member of the household you set Heedie up for. If you set Heedie up for a household, you confirm that you are allowed to do that on its behalf.

Your household and the people in it

  • Only add information about people (family members, children, staff) that you have the right to share.
  • Tell the people in your chats, and any staff Heedie will text, that Heedie is part of the conversation, and get their OK.
  • You are responsible for the messages you ask Heedie to send, and for the rules you set about who it may text and when.
  • Keep your sign-in details to yourself.

What Heedie does, and doesn't do

  • Heedie reads your family calendar. It never adds, changes or deletes calendar events.
  • It sends briefings, reminders and nudges in your chats, and answers questions about your household's plans.
  • It texts staff only when someone in your family asks, and follows your "ask me first" rules before it does.

Heedie can be wrong

Heedie uses AI and outside data, and it can make mistakes. Weather forecasts and drive times are estimates. Messages can be late or fail to arrive, because they depend on Apple, Google, mobile carriers and our messaging provider. Please check anything important yourself.

Don't rely on Heedie for emergencies, medical needs, or anything where a missed or wrong message could put someone at risk. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.

Fair use

Please don't use Heedie to:

  • Harass, threaten or spam anyone, or text people who haven't agreed to it.
  • Break the law or help anyone else break it.
  • Try to break, overload, copy or reverse engineer Heedie, or get into another household's data.

Your information

Your household's information and messages stay yours. You give us permission to store and use them only to run Heedie for you, as described in our Privacy Policy. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely.

Our part

The Heedie name, logo and software belong to Paul Dalton. These terms let you use Heedie; they don't give you ownership of any part of it.

Other services

Heedie works with services run by other companies, such as Apple iMessage, Google Calendar, Google Maps and mobile carriers. Their own terms apply when you use them, and we aren't responsible for their outages or changes.

Ending your use

You can stop at any time: remove Heedie from your chats and email hello@heedie.com to close your account and delete your data. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or if we stop offering Heedie. Where we reasonably can, we will give you notice first. When your account ends, we delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

No guarantees

As far as the law allows, Heedie is provided "as is", without promises that it will always be available, accurate or error-free.

Limits on our liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as a missed appointment or lost time), and our total liability to you for any claim about Heedie is limited to the greater of what you paid us for Heedie in the 12 months before the claim, or 100 Canadian dollars. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Brunswick and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of New Brunswick, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it somewhere else.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Heedie grows. We will post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change is important, we will tell you by email or text before it takes effect. If you keep using Heedie after that, the new terms apply.
